Design Issues: To create an application on the life of Temiar people.(orang asli)

Treatment: Temiar people is the fourth largest group of native people in Malaysia. Despite being the fourth largest community of native people in Malaysia, they remain largely unknown by most Malaysian. Thus, the creation of this application is important in spreading the words about their way of life and their culture. Extended Research @ Orang Asli Museum...

Sunday-11 July 2010

The lack of detail information about the native people or orang asli in the net especially about the native people in the region of Banding, Perak.

The journey took about 45 minutes from my house to the museum, and the first trip I went there was a huge let down when it was closed. I decided to come back to have my extended research on the subject.

The purpose of my extended research here is to find out what the tribes and the sub-ethnics that I will face and spend time with on the field trip to Belum Forest. The one particular ethnic that really caught my attention is Jahai which falls under the Negrito's tribe or locally known as Semang.

Jahai

+the Jahai ethnic have a similar physical features to the Habsyi or the Black African.

+The Jahai people are known to be a nomad and they always build a simple house.

Some other sub ethnic that also scattered around Perak...
Lanoh

(Senoi Group) Semai

Semai people are said to be the largest group of indigenous people in Malaysia, they are scattered around the Titiwangsa Mountains.

There are also another ethnic that scattered in some region of Perak and that is the Semoq-Beri people. Also fall under the group of Senoi like the Semai people.

This here is a photo captured of Jahai people in Perak back in 1950
